Dear Billy - You were the first spark of light I saw when I moved to Charlotte all those years ago when I was lonely and sad. Remember toboganning on the hill on the hood of a car? I was terrified, but you were all out and i admired it so. It was way too soon for you to go, Billy, but i hope i'll see you when i get up there. I love you and your big heart and your big-hearted family. Thanks for taking care of me at horse shows, on the river, at Sunday dinner at BC and Margaret's. Love, Dawn Dixon

Today your birthday. You and always went out to eat on mine and your Birthday. I never missed calling you on your birthday, but once it was later in the day and when I called you said I knew you wouldn't forget. Thinking of you today.

Remembering you on your birthday with so much love in my heart. It is a beautiful day, Billy.

My dear brother Billy,

I want to thank you for being my big brother, for protecting me, defending me, and mostly loving me every day of my life. I was always so proud of you, just like our Mother who drove across the entire United States to Fort Lewis, Washington, to give birth to you before our Father went off to his second tour of duty in the Korean War. Blessed with a courageous and loving Father and a committed and loving Mother, I now understand what made you so uniquely you. ...

My flesh and my heart fails: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. – Psalms 73:26
