Shaw, Billy J, age 86, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013. Born on June 16, 1926 to Velma and Louis Shaw, he lived on the family land that he loved. He is survived by his brother, Hubert (Ruth) Shaw; daughter, Wanda (Dale) Layton; grandchildren, Dale (Tandra) Layton, Shawn (Rob) Grubb, Heather (Kevin) Reid, Kristen Scheinert; great grandchildren, Jordan (Jacob) Harrison, Madison Layton, Morgan Grubb, Erin Grubb, Kelsey Reid, Natalie Layton, Andrew Layton, Kaleb Reid. Too many to name individually are his church family at Union United Methodist Church, his horse riding family at his barn, his gospel music family, his golf buddies, his in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of others. Of special mention are his "boys" from the ranch who called him Pop. He is reunited in heaven with his bride of 65 years, Mary Nell Adams Shaw, his daughter, Anita (Elliot) Marcus and his brothers, Lane (Faye) and Wendell (Louise) Shaw.
Bill was a cowboy; a man's man. Tough on the outside with a tender heart within. If you spent time with him, you were in the company of a master storyteller. Generous, steadfast and fiercely loved to the end, our world will never be quite the same without Bill Shaw.
Visitation will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 2 at Union United Methodist Church, AKA Union, The Church at Chelsea Park. The funeral will follow at 1 PM with Rev. John Hill, Rev. Jimmy Aycock and Bro. Maylon Felkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Union United Methodist Church. Please sign on line condolences at www.boltonfuneralhome.com.

I met Bill when I was younger. He came back into my life in my twenties. He was the most helpful man and took the best care of my horse - more than I could've asked! I miss him and think of him almost everyday. Great storyteller..great person. I'm happy he is with his wife and family now. RIP PawPaw!!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome...

One of My Memories of The Shaw Boys was when I got to sing Bass for them after Homer moved out of Ala. I loved these boys and enjoyed living by Hubert for many years. I will miss hearing Bill Sing like the rest of people that has heard him sing those high notes. Thank God for Recordings. I have made 2 CD's with around 30 songs each that I can still here Lane and Bill and the Keymasters sing.

Rest in Peace Bill. I will never forget listening to you sing in Church at Union & in particular He Touched Me. I will also remember you singing at my wedding as well as singing another favorite, Beulah Land, at my Daddy's funeral. I still have the casette tapes of the Keymasters that you gave me many years ago. I know you, Lane & Wendell are once again making beautiful music together. Even though I haven't seen you often the last few years I will miss you, your beautiful voice, love &...

Have lost a dear family member in the passing of Bill Shaw. A precious man whom once you met you would never forget. He was so caring and thoughtful. My mother, Myra Shaw Wood -a cousin, loved Bill so I know they are rejoicing in heaven - singing praises together. Look forward one day to hearing the Heavenly Shaw Choir. My deepest sympathy to the family. Nora Ellen Russell

What singing we will hear; never heard by mortal ear. No doubt heaven is a sweeter, funnier place today. Bill Shaw was a part of my life--- all of my life, and I loved him dearly.

Bill was such a wonderful man. He will be greatly missed by so many people. What a great spirit he had and such strong convictions. So generous and a wonderful father-figure for many many men. Big loss for us all, but he led a very full life.
