Not sure what to say?

Growing up with Bitsy all the way through school in Winnetka was an important part of my life, and her leadership and inspiration to our class of 1961 at New Trier has kept us all together. A very great woman who touched many lives has passed, and we will miss her terribly. May God bless you all in her family.

Bitsy only came into my life in the spring of 2010, when she pulled NYC alumni of NT '61 together for a brunch. Because of her I both connected and reconnected with members of the class and had a terrific 50th reunion this past October. Her gifts and generosity have not been overstated. Sincere condolences to the family. Neil Berkson

Tom and I met Bitsy and Bruce over a glass of champagne to toast the engagement of our son John and their daughter Ellen. After the wedding, Bitsy said to me, "You and I are family now". She and you Bruce have always warmly welcomed us to your home. We share three of your beautiful grandchildren. It has been said that it is not the length of life that is so important but the joy of living fully every day- Bitsy lived and loved fully every day. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all....

Dear Family,
I am still a bit numb after reading the news about Bitsy in the paper yesterday. She was always a very dear friend to me and I am so sorry that we did not keep in touch.
I hope you remember me? Stuart Whitman (or as you all use to call me "Stuart Streisand").

Much love to all of you and I hope we can touch base some day, share memories and catch up on what has been going on.

Love, Stuart

Dear Bruce and Family,

I am so sorry to hear about Bitsy's passing. I will always remember her passion for life, her deep attachment to family, and her welcoming warmth that spread across generations.

Bruce and family,
My deepest sympathy to your family. Bitsy will be sorely missed by the community she loved and served so well.
I will miss her at the Heritage Trail flea markets where we met each year to catch up on what the girls were up to.

Sorry to hear about Mrs. Winograd passing away. She was a very nice lady. Eric Jordan

Fun trips, bridge, parties, and interesting conversations. Life didn't happen to Bitsy; Bitsy ate life. To quote another of her friends, there was nothing bitsy about her. She helped us learn how to live, and how to die. We already miss her a lot.

Bruce and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Bitsy was an incredible woman who valued family above all else. The wonderful memories you have of her will help sustain you through this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
