Blaine Densley Holt passed away peacefully on December 2, 2016. Born October 19, 1927 in South Jordan, Utah to Samuel Adelbert Holt and Truby Hylanthia Densley. Graduate of Jordan High School. Member of the United States Navy, stationed in Guam, post-World War II, working in radio intelligence.
Returning from the service, he married his life-long sweetheart, Mary Beverly Garff on December 11, 1947, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Their union was blessed with three sons who were the light of their lives. Blaine spent his career managing the Semco (previously Draper) Wood Mill in Salt Lake City, retiring at age 80. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving faithfully for many years as a ward clerk and later as the baptismal coordinator alongside his wife. Blaine was an avid Jazz fan, so we learned not to visit when the game was on. He also loved camping, fishing and hunting.
Blaine was an example of pure Christ-like love as he so lovingly showed in the last year of his life, sacrificing his own comforts and desires to remain with his beloved Beverly in the memory care unit of their care center, just so they could be together. Theirs was a love story not soon to be forgotten.
Blaine is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Blaine and Coleen Carrigan Holt, Randy Mose and Mary Elva Luker Holt, 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, daughter-in-law Susan Carrigan Holt and son Kendall Adelbert Holt.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the LDS meetinghouse, 2550 W. 9800 S. South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, hug your kids and offer them a tic-tac in honor of grandpa.
