Not sure what to say?

I just discovered the news of Blake's passing since we had been out of touch in recent years. He and I often went out together in San Francisco and enjoyed motorcycle rides in the Bay Area. I'm a progressive politically and he was pretty conservative (I'll never forget his argument that our retreat from Viet Nam was a mistake), yet he was socially liberal and always remained civil in our political disagreements. Blake was exceptionally thoughtful, intelligent and generous, as well as kind...

Dear Blake,
I will never forget you for standing by my side. You got it and worked hard to fight for me every step of the way, despite our litigation taking nearly eight years for an outcome. You never wavered in your support for me. I miss you and think of you often. May God bless you and your family.
P.S.
I am donating today to your children's education fund in honor of you and your family for the sacrifices you made for my family and me.

I was a law school classmate of Blake's and just read of his passing in the Quinney (University of Utah) College of Law newsletter. Very sad. One of the smartest people I've ever known. We would spar intellectually as I was a flaming liberal and he was somewhat more of a libertarian, but it was always good-natured . . .and he would always kick my butt. I knew from those debates that he was going to be a great litigator -- so quick on his feet. But it was perhaps more the fact that he could...

Blake,
I will never ever forget your support for me as a member of the SFPD. You were the first person who I truly believed had an understanding of our situation. Your amazing intellect and confidence were so refreshing and helpful during a time when I couldn't see the forest through the trees. Rest In Peace brother and may God bless your family...
Gone but not forgotten...

I was a former Constitutional Law/Civil Litigation Secretary for Blake Lobes at the SF City Attorney's Office in September 2012 and was assigned to work for Blake. My best wishes for his family in this time of sadness and loss.

This is very sad. I may have crossed paths with Blake considering the legal community in SF. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest condolence to Blake's family. I am so sorry for your loss.

May Almighty God and his son Jesus Christ bless and comfort your family in this time of sorrow. John 17:3

I played little league baseball with Blake, went to high school and college with the man. He was one of the smartest guys I've ever known. We were political opposites but that didn't matter to Blake; he was a class act.

My sincere condolences to his family.

My deepest condolences to your family for the loss of your love one. May your cherished memories created, brighten your days and help sustain you at this time. John 6:40 gives much comfort by looking forward to Jesus promise of seeing your love one again
