Not sure what to say?

Still missing you my friend. I still begin to dial your number before realizing I can´t call you. Continue to Rest well

Over time I lost track of Nita (& her sister Bal). What memories! They were a good two-sum like my sister & I "back in the day". So sorry to learn she is gone. Keep the faith and May God bless you all. Lessie McMillian

To the Ashley family, I'm so sorry to hear about Vernita' passing, I'm just seeing her obituary today. I worked with her at the Syracuse Police Department, she was a great dispatcher and a lifeline for us all. She was a kind and sweet person; she will be truly missed. God bless and I pray his peace, comfort and strength for you all.

My sincerest condolences to Vernita´s family. She was a pleasure and joy to work with. Working next to her on phones, we´d laughed because we both had deep voices and people were always calling us "Sir"! Rest in peace, Nita.

What a nice woman who was so very good at her job and being a good person. It was a pleasure to know and work with her

You were one of the strongest woman I knew. A great role model, who taught with humor and love. You did so much good for others in your life. I´m so blessed to have had you for a friend. Vernita you will be remembered. I will miss you.

I will forever love and miss you . You were more than a friend... you were my family...

So sad. I will treasure my memories of knowing and working with Vernita for many years. She was a special person. Funny, warm, caring, intelligent. A great co worker and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. My sincere condolences to all family.

Vernita was a special sweet person! Loved working with her first at SPD and then at 911. Sending condolences to her family during this difficult time of loss.
