SEYMOUR: Blanche N. Rappa, 81, of Seymour, peacefully entered into eternal rest on early Tuesday morning, July 30, 2013, at Gardner Heights in Shelton. She was the beloved wife of the late Virgil Rappa.
Mrs. Rappa was born in Derby on August 11, 1931, daughter of the late Erich and Blanche Richter Neumiester. She grew up in Shelton, lived most of her life in Seymour, retired to Hobe Sound, FL in 1992, and following her husband's passing in 2003, returned to Seymour. Blanche was employed as a registered nurse for Dr. Robert Lanzi in Orange for 20 years and enjoyed quilting and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by a loving and devoted daughter, Tracy A. Rappa (JoAnn Sardo) of Seymour, a loving son, Richard Rappa (Lisa) of Jupiter, FL, a sister, Carol Moylan (Robert) of W. Hartford, CT, two cherished granddaughters, Laura Crocker (Justin) and Kari Rappa of FL, two great-granddaughters, Haley and Grace Crocker and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday August 2, 2013, from 4-7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 186 Coram Avenue in Shelton. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Shelton. The family sends a heart-felt thank you to the nurses and staff of Gardner Heights Elm Unit for their wonderful care. We celebrated many Holidays and Hurricanes With the Rappa family. They were very special with lots of good memories. LOVE to Tracy and Rich and their families.
