Hi April,

I just had the privilege of volunteering in your son, Brigg's VBS class. I had seen in the paper that Blaze died and I didn't make the family connection until today when I asked Briggs how he is related to Blaze? He said "he was my brother... you mean how I "was" related..." he said. I said I bet you miss him a lot. And he said yes... yet Briggs seems to be emotionally solid.

I met Blaze only twice, and am amazed at how just his presence could bring so much meaning to life! God blesses the most wonderful people with these most amazing gifts. Thank you for sharing. May His peace be with you!

We cannot begin to imagine your grief. Hopefully the hugs, flowers and expressions of sympathy can somehow ease your pain. We are so grateful our daughter, Mary Kaye, got to know and love Blaze and your wonderful family. The memory of Blaze and the twinkle in his eyes will live in our hearts forever.

I am the wife of the dentist Blaze and Briggs go to. Joel told me today about your son. Tears streamed down my checks as I read your beautiful letter to "cute cheeks". Life is a such a gift and children are such a blessing from the Lord but when God takes them home early it must be so incredibly difficult. May God continually hold you tight as you cry out to Him. You are all in our prayers!
