Blazie passed away peacefully in her Gilroy home with her family by her side. Blazie was born in Ysleta, Texas a small community in El Paso, Texas, and moved to Gilroy with her father Juan Ruiz, and siblings Christina Hernandez, Mary Solis, and Juan Cooney) Ruiz after their mother Augustina Ruiz passed away when Blazie was six years old. Her brother Victor Ruiz lived in Gilroy; he made the trip to Ysleta to relocate his family. They packed everyone and what little belongings fit in the car and made the trip to Gilroy. Blazie attended Gilroy schools before starting her 40-year career at Gentry's (now known as Gilroy Foods) managing the cafeteria. In 1948 at a picnic in the park on Watsonville Road she met John Misquez. It was his first outing after coming home from WWII. They were married in 1950 and shortly after had two daughters: Coreen and Patsy. Together John and Blazie raised their family in Gilroy; in time their family grew, soon there were 6 grandchildren Daniel Cariglio (Meagan), Ann Marie Lopez, Rachelle
Cariglio, Margarita Cariglio, James Lopez, and Marquette Cariglio. Her family continued to grow with 16 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Blazie doted on her family, she loved her family deeply and will be greatly missed.
