I was a very young piano teacher at the Peabody Institute when Bluma became my student. It was an honor to teach her. She was beautiful inside and out. One day she wore a sweater with shorter sleeves and I suddenly gazed down and saw the number engraved on her arm from the war. I have NEVER forgotten the vision of this number face to face. I have cried many times as I shared this story with others. Bluma was one of the great heroes I've known in my now almost 77 years. I will remember her...
