Bob G. Barker

Bob G. Barker of Cabot, Arkansas, left this earth for his eternal home on May 20, 2010 in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He was born January 13, 1933 to Clough and Myrtle Barker of Viola, Arkansas. He was united in marriage to Peggy Leeds Barker on December 19, 1954. He graduated from Arkansas College, now Lyon College, in Batesville, Arkansas in 1955. Bob retired from education with 50 years of service. He was a coach, counselor and Assistant Superintendent of Schools in St. Clair, Mo., Benton, Mo., Tuckerman, Ar. and Fuller Jr. High in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was elected to the Athletic Hall of Fame at Lyon College in 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Adalea Cotter and his in-laws, Austin and Lille Leeds. He is survived by his wife of 55 ½ years, Peggy Leeds Barker; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Loti Barker of Cabot, Arkansas; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Charles Riedley of Brentwood, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren: grandson, Russell Barker and wife Jennifer; granddaughter, Melanie Barker all of Cabot; grandson and granddaughter, Ryan and Taylor Riedley of Brentwood, Tennessee; sister, Marjorie Holstein and a brother, Ordene and Lena Barker all of Viola, Arkansas; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Jim Porter and special family friends, the Lanpher family all of Cape Girardeau, Missouri as well as many nieces and nephews. He was a friend to everyone he met and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Saturday from 6-8 p.m. Services: Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Moore's Cabot Funeral Home Chapel in Cabot, Arkansas.
