I will never forget when he held the door to Teachers College open for me when I was a mere freshman at NU. What a giant I thought he was..........and turned out to be as a player!

As a high school student in Lincoln and Nebraska Football Fan I held Bob Brown in awe and admiration. Although he never appeared to me to be bigger than life he envisaged what one could do and be in life. Of imposing size and strength his character and substance were even greater. I less than a decade he and a few others turned a less than mediocre college football program into one of the greatest in history. Thanks for the memories and inspiration.

R.I.P. Bob

Stories about The Boomer, and his dominant presence, toughness, execution, and revolutionary game-changing techniques, were the stuff of legend. In Philly, LA, Oakland, and throughout the league. Larger than life, Hall of Famer, and a very bright and interesting man. The one and only, the great Bob "Boomer" Brown.
