Not sure what to say?

I had the honor of knowing your father as a member of Kiwanas where he faithfully presented the current news at every meeting. Always quick with a smile and kind greeting, he never passed an opportunity to engage in conversation. What a gentle and pleasant man. He will be missed! My condolences to the Family.

Robbie we are so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. He sounded like an incredible man and I know he was very proud of you. Please know you and your family are in our prayers.

I never met Mr. Burton, but I remember as a child in the 60's hearing his rich voice on WRFC every morning as I got ready for school. It was part of my parents morning routine...and I remember it well. I'm sure your much more loving memories will carry you through this. My condolences.

I had the distinct pleasure of working alongside Bob Burton in the WRFC newsroom from 1976-1986. We were on duty that afternoon when Buck Belue threw to Lindsay Scott to beat Florida and both cheered Lindsay all the way to the goal line. He may have been born in Oklahoma, but we will claim him as a true Southern gentleman. Condolences to the Family and R.I.P. Bob. You have earned your rest. R. Garry Glenn

I never had the pleasure to meet Mr Burton but his son, Robbie, and I have been friends for more than 30 years. I know how much Robbie and many other thought of Mr Burton and I wish the family the best.

A good man

Hi John and Robbie,

I was so sad to hear about your father's passing. He was a very talented man, and I always enjoyed listening to him on the radio. I also remember that he was always at your little league and senior league baseball games. He was a fine gentleman and a great father to you and your sister. I know he will be missed by many. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Bob was an institution on WRFC in Athens. I always enjoyed listening in the mornings. Radio was very important in the early 60's. Unfortunately today there is less personal relationship with the local community. He will be missed. I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts."Keep the Faith"

Bob; You lost a great man and father. I am glad I met him and had dinner with him and you. Your friend; "C.Q."
