Bob L. Colwell

Deer Creek - Bob L. Colwell, 79, of Deer Creek, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at his home.
He was born Jan. 29, 1936, in Hurricane, W.V. to Leo and Nannie (Johnson) Colwell. He married Sally Ridler on Feb. 14, 1963 in Huntington, W.V.
Surviving are his wife, Sally Colwell of Deer Creek; two sons, Craig Colwell of Normal and Chris (Jodi) Colwell of Omah, Neb.; five grandchildren, Perri, Kasey, Jess, Luke and Jack; three sisters, Maxine Kessler of Hurricane, W.V, Carolyn (Russ) Watson of Winfield, W.V. and Lois Brewer of Teays Valley, W.V.
Bob was an insulator for Union Carbide in S. Charleston, W.V. for seven years. He then drove for Schneider Transfer in Greenbay, Wisc. and for Bell Enterprise in Deer Creek for the last 15 years.
He was a member of the Morton Masonic Lodge #352 AF & AM.
Bob enjoyed gardening. He had a great green thumb. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, at Knapp Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek with Rev. Ralph Bauer officiating.
