Not sure what to say?

Mr. Dale was a wonderful "TV friend" for San Diegans for many years, with his Zoorama show and weather forecasts. I got to talk with him once, sitting at the counter in the El Cortez coffee shop, and I watched him filming Zoorama at the zoo once. He gave a lot of education and entertainment to us all, and we're all fortunate to have enjoyed his special humor so many times. I'm sure he was just as wonderful a person in person as he projected himself into our living rooms. God bless his...

I am a 77 yrs. old woman now and I grew up listening to Bob Dale when I lived in San Diego. I had the good fortune to call into the show one time and he spoke to me as a teenager and was so kind. I will always remember his excellent professionalism and manners in broadcasting the news. He was one of a kind and I still think about him. That is why I found this site and realized he passed away. I am so sorry I missed the documentary regarding his legacy.

Bob was loved by all of his dedicated viewers. I lived in San Diego are from 1964 until my husband retired in 1976 and I never missed watching him if I could help it. I recall being very concerned in the early 70s when Bob was off air, during a long sick spell. It was like being concerned for a family member. We moved away following my husband's retirement from the USN our lives went on, our children grew up, married, had children, then grandchildren and now we are great grandparents , the...

Dear cousins:

You have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your husband and father.

I have read the tributes people have shared with you in this guest book. Trully he was loved by many.

I have many fond memories of the years we were growing up in Canton. The Monopoly games that lasted into the night, His model airplanes and the times when we would have hamburgers at aunt Bernice's place after a shopping trip to the local A&P. No Mc Donalds then. Hamburgers never tasted...

I'm a native San Diegan, now 61 yrs old. I also grew up with Bob Dale and the rest of the group from KFMB downtown, Doug Oliver, Harold Keen & Ray Wilson. One day along with my sister & nephew we were at the zoo. He was there filiming Zoorama. Well the 3 of us got to be on Zoorama. I remember the barber chair when he use to host the 3pm movies, he was great. I was able to watch the 1hr special. What memories. He was a very large part of San Diego TV.

From the Z-o-o-o-o-rama voice over to his touching story about Christmas Booze Balls to his timely weather reports...is there anyone who has lived in San Diego for any length of time who didn't know his work and appreciate his warm personality? My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Dear Linda and Marilyn, I was out of town when Bob passed away. Marilyn, I want you to know that I tried to call weeks ago but the line had been cut off. You know how I felt about Bob. I cut his hair for 40 years and it was fun every time we got together for his hair cut. All the times he came into the shop he just brought a warm and fun feeling with him. Bob and I felt the same on so many things. We used to laugh out loud a lot. I will miss him always. Blue

I am a S. D. native and remember your Dad with much affection. I was so happy when I met him in person at the Regan's house in the early 60's. Tom and I remember the weekday movies. He always did such a wonderful job telling about them. We will honor him and your family at the S. D. Academy of Ballet School where his grandson attends. From two of his "friends".........Tom Sherman and Patti Barnhill

What a wonderful, wonderful man Bob Dale was. I never met him but his kindness and gentle and loving manner was evident right through the television set. As a native San Diegan growing up in the 60's, I found him mesmerizing to watch on "The Early Show" at 3:00 each weekday afternoon talking about the movies. He had that certain "something" that was just so special. It was apparent that he was very genuine and he just seemed to sparkle. My very deepest condolences to his family. Thanks...
