Both the Gibson and Hollins families at one time lived in the Logan Fontenelle low income
housing projects in Omaha, Nebraska. Bob occasionally babysat for both my sister and me. I followed his sports exploits at Omaha Tech High, Creighton University, and the St. Louis Cardinal baseball team. The last time I saw Bob was at an autograph signing event in Tyson Corners, Virginia circa 1994 where we reminisced about growing up in Omaha.

Bob was a classmate at Tech High with my best friend, Tom Nigro. I started my Freshman year at Tech High in 1953, the year Bob graduated from Tech High. From my best friend, Tom Nigro, I heard all about Bob and his time at Tech High. I have lived in St. Louis now for 50 years, so have a connection to Bob, in a sense, that goes back to Tech High and now to St. Louis.

First of all, to the family of Mr. Gibson ,my deepest condolences, and thank you for sharing him with the world.
As a son of a die hard Cardinals fan, number 45 was the first number I ever put on the back of a t shirt.
RIP and thank you for the memories.
