Not sure what to say?

Just learned that Bob Richards passed away. My husband, George, and I were fortunate to meet this legend and kind soul. He married us in Las Vegas on July 4, 1992 and he signed our Marriage Certificate, as well. My dear husband also passed away in 2023. Condolences to his family. God bless. Laura Case

Our family MALEY lived 2 doors down from RICHARDS family in between us was TRIPPIDIS. We lived at 1107 North Market Street, Champaign, Champaign County, Illinois USA. We grew up together and my Uncle James "Jimmie" MALEY were buddy's, as Rev. Garfield of the Nazareth Church was Bobby's friend also. I am sorry for your loss. God Bless you all. Pat Maley

Bob was a regular customer at Griff's where I work, he was more like family to us, prayers to the family from all of us here, he was a sweet man who will be sorely missed.

It’s always sad to lose an icon of American history. Wheaties was one of the few cereals my parents would let my sister and I eat because it had less sugar than most other cereals at that time. I remember staring at the athlete on that box and Mr. Richards’ illustration all through breakfast. Of course, I didn’t know he was a real person or had a name. I just wanted to be lean, fit and athletic like he was. He inspired me to attempt to be an athlete and so I tried cross-country running,...

Such a talented athlete who will be a part of history for his Olympic accomplishments and the start of an iconic trend for so many other athletes.. Sincere condolences for the Richards family, may God be with you all as you go through your time of loss.

Even to a child watching a cereal commercial, it came through that he was a great man, not just a great athlete.

A very sad day for me and America learning of the death of Bob Richards. We had become good friends.Ray Burton

One of the preeminent athletes from the 20th Century.
