Wise Funeral Home - Bonham Obituary

A funeral service for Bobby Lee Satterfield, 55 will be held on Saturday, June 15th at 2:00pm at Wise Funeral Home, 219 West Sam Rayburn, Dr. Bonham, TX 75418.

Bob Satterfield was on born on May 22, 1969, in Pecos TX and passed away on June 8th , 2024 after a 3 ½ year battle with cancer.

Bob never met a problem that he could not find a solution for. He passed this skill on to his children who to this day don’t believe there is problem that they can’t solve. Bob spent his whole life ensuring the safety of others as he spent time in Iraq and Afghanistan working with the Army Special Forces and Seal Team 8. He worked for 30 years in law enforcement and various other Corporate Security positions. He was a passionate leader that loved helping others. He worked as a K9 handler and was gifted dog trainer. He trained dogs to find bombs and basically almost anything you could think of. He loved his dog Hank, and they shared a special relationship till the very end.

He loved his family and friends. When you met Bob, you were better for it, he had a way of connecting with people that was genuine and sincere. He loved music and could name any song after hearing just a few seconds of the song. The really miraculous part of about his musical acumen is that he could also tell you the artist and when the song was recorded. It really was pretty incredible to listen to him talk about it. He enjoyed playing the guitar and started playing at the age of 4. Bob had a passion for mixed martial arts and started at the early age of 6 with Karate. He eventually had a Mixed Martial Arts school where he enjoyed training others. He trained with several legendary MMA fighters like Frank Shamrock and Josh “The Punk” Thompson. His family members were sometimes his unwilling training partners.

Bob really did enjoy life and excelled in anything that he was passionate about. He was married to the love of his life Patty Satterfield for 22 years. Bob is preceded in death by his brother Danny Ortega.  He is survived by his parents, Mike and Frances Moreno, his wife, Patty Satterfield and his five children Ali Martinez, Ashlee Amaya, Dylan Berryhill, Devin Berryhill and Parker Satterfield. In addition, he is survived by his siblings Frank Ortega, Rick Satterfield, Rusty Satterfield, Shelly Satterfield and Samantha Bruce and his five grandchildren, Kynzlee, Kingston, Kwinn, Sipriano, and Koralee.

Not sure what to say?

I can not believe it has been almost a year since your passing. You are missed by soo many people. Keep your guiding light shining for us left behind and may we all rejoice at the time we meet up again.

My fondest memory is watching Bob with his family. Honest in character, deliberate in his thoughts, words, actions and the simplicity in his expressed love.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob over 15 years ago. We worked together for a few years and I'll never forget when he invited me to his home for dinner. He grilled steaks and I met his wife, Patty. Bob was such a caring guy and we shared a lot of laughs. You'll be missed, Bob. Praying for his family! RIP buddy

Bobby and I went to school together in Grand Junction, CO. He was one of the Good Guys, a Family Friend too. Bobby will never be forgotten. We stayed in touch, even if we did not talk everyday, when you did talk to Bobby, you picked up right where you left off. He was amazing. To Bobby's Family, you are in my thoughts. I cannot imagine what you are going through at this time. Stay strong, as his would want you to. I am glad I had the opportunity to have known him.

Bobby you fought with pain for 3 years you are now free of pain and resting in a beautiful place, Our thoughts and prayers are with your family, Our love to all

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob in a Facebook Dad group in Allen Texas. we had immediately hit it off and became friends. He later called me back to do some work on his homes. We had great conversation and talked about our different times in the military. Bob was always wanted to offer advice and have an ear to listen to no matter what problem you have. The world was a better place with Bob in it. He will be missed dearly.

RIP my friend.

My condolences to the...

The Alicea family wishes nothing but positive prayers and support during this time. The good Lord, not only has a good person for security, but somebody to make him laugh. Via con Dios, my friend and I will see you again. But not yet, not yet.

Single Tree

Bob was my mentor and friend. Shared many laughs while working security with him. We would walk around laughing at silly things and talking about MMA. I learned so many very valuable things from him. I wait patiently for the day when I can see my friend again.
