Not sure what to say?

I finally got to meet the man whose stories I loved so much, back in 2004 when he'd come in to buy groceries at Farm Fresh in Smithfield. He seemed surprised (pleasantly) that anyone remembered his Points West features and was very kind. It seemed to make his day that his work was appreciated and missed. And he always had his groceries double-bagged in a unique way. But that's Bob, one of a kind, for sure. WTKR is not the same without him. Smithfield has lost one of its own.

I worked with Bob for a very short time before he retired at WTKR, I was just entering my second TV station and this time in a big city- Bob took me under his wing, gave me plenty words of encouragement and always was a kind and gentle man- to this day I am thankful to have worked with such a professional journalist and indeed a rare breed when it came to crafting stories and telling the people's stories, unfortunately something that is now but a distant memory! I was part of one of his Point West features and found him to be a very charming and dedicated person. I have missed seeing him on TV. I am sorry for the families lost. M.L. DeVincenzi

Bob, you touched more lives than you knew! Thank you for your friendship. You will be missed. Brett Francis Hampton,Va.

Dear West Family, we have never met, however; my wife and I are very sorry for your loss.
