Mother Bobbie Lee Bryant-Henry affectionately known to family and friends as "Sweetie", was born August 21, 1938 in Itta Bena, Mississippi to the late Johnnie Mae and Lacy Charles King. Sweetie lived with her mother in Saginaw, Michigan before relocating to Sikeston, Missouri in 1960 where she called home for the next 27 years.
Determined to make a better life for herself and her children, Sweetie took a bold step at the age of 34 and went back to school to further her education and receive her LPN license. She proudly cared for the elderly and disabled until she retired in 2007. While in Sikeston, she remained gainfully employed in various occupations. Some of those ranged from house-keeping to Broadcasting, from Professional Secretary to Teacher, from school nurse to LPN.
Sweetie gave her life to Christ at an early age and served faithfully under the ministries of West End MB Church and Green Memorial COGIC until she moved to Memphis, Tenn in 1987. There Sweetie continued her Christian journey at The Hope of Glory Deliverance Ministry under the leadership of her son, Pastor Clinton C. Bryant. She served faithfully in various capacities; such as President of Pastor"s Aid, President of the Mothers Board, Pulpit Aid, Usher's Board, and the Hospitilaty Committee, to name a few.
Sweetie was the true epitome of a woman, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She had a smile for everyone with whom she came in contact. She was full of wisdom, patience, love and humor for those that knew her well. Most importantly, she lived her life as a servant of God. Sweetie departed this life June 1, 2012 and is now resting in her Heavenly Fathers arms.
