Bobbie Jane (Stewart) O’Keefe, 80, a 57 year resident of Chicopee, passed away on May 11. Born in Turkey, Texas and raised in Littlefield, TX, she was one of 9 children born to the late Robert and Clarabelle Stewart. She retired after 23 years of working at Wesson Women’s Hospital as a newborn photographer. Bobbie was predeceased by her husband Robert, an Air Force veteran stationed at Westover Air Force Base. She leaves behind her loving children and their spouses, Deb and Ken Messier, Charlie and Joanie O’Keefe, Robert O’Keefe, Margaret and her partner Brian Wolohan and James O’Keefe; her grandkids, Jason, Katie, Amber, Darren, Jaclyn, Evan and Madison; her great grandkids, Ayden, Brody, Lilly and Connor. She is predeceased by her oldest daughter Susan, her siblings, Clifton, and “Straw”. Brothers and sisters surviving Bobbie are Wanda, Rita, Pauline, Billy Joe, Sandy and Jerry Don. She leaves countless relatives in CT, NY, TX, AZ, GA and CA. Special thanks to Sue Cusson and Sally Hardy for the special care shown to Mom while at home. Bobbie Jane will fondly be remembered as a woman devoted to her family, true to her Texas roots and full of hospitality and kindness to all who knew her. The funeral will be on Saturday, May 16, 2015 beginning with a period of visitation from 9 a.m. until 10:15 at the Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee followed by the Funeral Liturgy to be celebrated by Holy Name Parish at the former Assumption Church at 11. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, VA Regional Office, RM. 15758, JFK Bldg., Government Ctr., Boston, MA 02203 or to Childrens’ Miracle Network, c/o Baystate Medical Center, 280 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA 01199.

Aunt Bobbie Jane was such a loving, caring soul. I always felt as though she was looking out for everyone - those she loved and those she barely knew. Every time I would visit, she would be sure to pull me aside to have a quiet, personal conversation and always worried that I was doing okay. I will miss her so very much.
