The Christian Benevolent Funeral Home-MMS announces with the deepest sympathy the transition of Bobbie Jean Small.


 


Mrs. Bobbie Small, a native of Dermott, Arkansas and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, departed this life on Thursday, January 26, 2023. She was the elder of two children born to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Davis. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, and her Master's from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Bobbie pledged her beloved sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha Grad Chapter. Mrs. Small dedicated her life to education. She was an elementary school teacher and administrator for 30 years. She touched the lives of many during her teaching and administrative career with the Mobile County Public School System from which she retired in 2000. Preceding her in death were her beloved parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Davis. She leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted and dedicated husband of 54 years, Steve T. Small, two daughters, Denise Small and Kimberli Davis; one son Justin Small; grandchildren, Austin Small and Justine Davis; a loving brother Walter(Gloria) Davis; nephews Greg Davis, Brian Davis, Mark Davis; and a host of family & friends.

I just found about Bobbie´s passing. She was my mentor regarding all matters dealing with the MCPSS"s Federal Program at the local school & Central Office level. My sympathy to the family of this very intelligent and caring lady who taught me so very much.

I was saddened to read of Mrs. Small's passing. She and I worked together many years ago. Mrs. Small was a very intelligent woman. I enjoyed working with her. She was friendly and funny at times. I have missed seeing her over the years. My deepest sympathy and prayers to the Small Family.
