Bobby Gluck, age 74, of New Paris, died unexpectedly of natural causes Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Goshen Hospital. He was born May 24, 1950 to William “Willy” and Eleanor (Graff) Gluck in the family home in Plainfield, CT.
Bobby was a 1968 graduate of Plainfield High School. He and his brother, Ron were founding members of the Central Cycle Club. The Cycle Club is still popular today. Bobby had various jobs in Connecticut and Vermont, raising cattle, selling cars, and racing greyhounds. He was a member of the American Jersey Cattle Club and was in the Jersey Production Hall of Fame. Bobby moved to Indiana in 1993 and worked for GW Snider as a herdsman. You couldn’t find a cleaner barn! He later joined SuperSweet Feeds in Nappanee. Tom Mattern was a beloved mentor to Bobby. Bobby retired from ADM in 2018. He loved people and never met a stranger. He was happy in his career, helping people with their animals and visiting farms. During his working days, he was a member of the Nappanee Chamber of Commerce and Nappanee Boys and Girls Club. He also was a ranger at McCormick Creek Golf Course. Bobby was baptized on May 31, 2015 at New Paris Missionary Church, where he attended
Bobby and Jeri Lynn Yoder were married on February 13, 1998. He said many times God brought him to Indiana to meet her. Jeri survives along with sons, Jamey (Meredith) Dodge and Ben (Krista) Dodge of Connecticut; daughters, Anitra (Seth) Zartman, April (Brian) Brown, and Addi (Brian) Kaminskis all of Indiana; grandchildren, Billy, Bobby, and Zachary Dodge, Sadie and Eleanor Dodge, Janae, Brenna, Adria and Jacinda Brown, Senica, Ty, Lyric, and Evik Zartman, Carli, Jakob, and Clay Kaminskis; brothers, Bill Gluck, Ron (Eunice) Gluck, Connecticut; sisters-in-law, Joan (Larry Overholser) Eshelman, Marie Yoder; and brother-in-law, Walt Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in law, Pauline and Carl Yoder; sisters-in-law, Carla Gluck, Jeannie Miller; and brothers-in-law, Dave Eshelman and Fred Yoder.
Family and friends may call Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 2-7pm at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee and for 1 hour prior to the 10:30am Funeral Service, Thursday, August 29th at New Paris Missionary Church. Golf attire is encouraged. Pastors Matt Schoettle and Dave Hackney will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to 1st Tee Indiana in Michiana, New Paris Missionary Church Operation Christmas Child, or Nappanee Boys and Girls Club.
