Bobby Gene Kuykendall passed away Friday February 12, 2021, at the age of 81. Bobby was born May 3, 1939 in Midland Texas to Jasper and Zola Kuykendall. In 1963 he went to work for the City of Midland. He started in the water department and eventually ended his career as the superintendent over the traffic department, retiring in 1998 after 35 years of service.


 His hobbies in his early years were fishing and traveling all of the northwestern states, later in life his hobbies included spending time with family, going to Las Vegas or Ruidoso, and buying scratch offs. Bobby married Mary Hall in 1958. With this marriage they had 3 children, Diana Lynn, Bobby Gene Jr., and Lissa Kaye. Unfortunately, Diana was killed in 1973 and Bobby Jr in 1983 both involved in accidents. He later met Madge Braden who he married on February 14th 1981. He gained a daughter Debra Kennedy, a grand-daughter Misti Kennedy, a son Dwayne Braden and his wife Mindy. Years later his family would grow where he became the greatest PawPaw/BawBaw anyone could ask for.

Bobby is preceded in death by his wife Madge Kuykendall and daughter Diana Kuykendall and son Bobby Kuykendall Jr. He is survived by his daughter Kaye George and favorite son in law Dale. Granddaughter Kassie Hunt and husband JR, along with great grandsons Peyton Kowal and Hudson Hunt of Monahans Texas. Granddaughter Kailin George of Gilbert Arizona. He is also survived by his gifts from Madge, daughter Debra Kennedy and granddaughter Misti Johnson, husband Jay and two great granddaughters Maci and Jaylee Johnson of Midland Texas. Son Dwayne Braden and wife Mindy. Granddaughter Marne Barclay, husband Andy, great grandkids Olivia and Owen of Abilene Texas. And granddaughter Danne Braden of Midland Texas.


Viewing for Bobby will take place Thursday February 18th from 1pm-9pm at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin funeral home in Midland Texas. The family will be there from 6pm-8pm.

The funeral service will be held Friday February 19th at 2pm also at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Midland. Masks will be required in attendance of the services.

Pallbearers will be nephews Jimmy Kuykendall, Tommy Kuykendall, Terry Kuykendall, family friends Roy Sanders, Steve Marlowe, Brian Marlowe, Ryan Kowal, grandson in law JR Hunt and great grandsons Peyton Kowal and Hudson Hunt.

We are so sorry to learn of Bobby’s passing. He made so many wonderful memories with his Grands and GreatGrands that will be cherished for a lifetime. Our Lord has now blessed Bobby with complete healing.
