Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the family of Bobby Mitchell. In 1958 Bobby and I attended the Quartermaster Corps Basic Officer Course at Ft Lee, Va. He was a true leader.

I continued in a military career, but was always a fan of Bobby.

Saw him play at the stadium when I was 12 along with Sony Jerguson . He could run down the sideline faster than anyone and catch the ball over his head in stride. He was electric, every kid in the neighborhood was practicing that catch. Michael J Roy (Born a Redskin fan, Garfield Hospital 8:30 pm 1948.)

Gwen, Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your beautiful family as you all gather to celebrate Bobbys amazing life! So sorry for your loss! He will be missed....but will live on in our hearts as we recall so many wonderful memories.

Bobby Mitchell is gone.
As a young African American boy growing up in Elyria, Ohio, many of our African American heroes were hidden from us due to racism and bigotry. Mr. Mitchell was not. His exploits on the field of athletics and more importantly, civil rights, were legendary and he became an instant role model of mine. Many of us wanted to be like Bobby. A true American icon, he will be missed. Lieutenant Colonel Michael L Nelson, USA (ret.)

I would like to express my deepest sympathies for the loss of your loved one, who will be remembered for his athletic ability and his mark in history. May you find comfort and strength in God during this time of sorrow.

My condolences to the Mitchell family and friends. May you find comfort and strength in God and fond memories, today, tomorrow, and always.

My prayers are with you and your family. Having lost two husbands I feel your pain. Remember only God can get you through this; so trust him.

You were all that a man should be. RIP

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
