Not sure what to say?

I was privileged to have known and worked for Bobby at the DPD. Bobby was truly one of the Good Guys, and one of Dallas Finest. May Godspeed my Worthy Brother, and may you RIP. John R. Allen,Retired DPD, and Retired Chief of Alvarado PD

I didn't Know Mr Pope , But I work for/with his grandson Drake, if he was anything like Drake he was a good man.

I have great memories of Bob making fun of Marj & I having coffee and working out on the "miracle exercise belt" while living in Polk Terrace. The belt didn't help but the coffee and friendship did. Miss both of them.

Bobby was a wonderful man. I worked with & around him at DPD from 1955-1976. When Don Byrd was elected Sheriff & made Bobby his Chief Deputy, I met them at the DPA Club in Dec 1979 & they informed me I was going to work for them @DSO in January. Bobby was an amazing person to work for, & I treasured our friendship over all those years. Rest in Peace, my dear Friend - I'll see you again one day.

Well I worked for Bobby several times and had a few drinks with him now and then. He was a friend and I always enjoyed working for him. He normally had a smile on his face and you could really never, figure out whether he was going to discipline you or let you walk away. I always viewed him as a great leader and fair in his dealings with me. He will be truly missed. Regretfully I will miss the service, doing some rehab.

Sincerest condolences to the entire Pope family! Paw was a treasure and I'm glad I got a chance to know and love him. May God bless and keep you all during these trying times!

One of the best Assistant Chiefs the Dallas Police Department ever had. Well respected and a valued friend to all who knew him. We had some great times Bob and we will miss you. Rest in Peace my friend and we'll see you on down the road.
