Bobby Yoder Obituary

Bobby Ray Yoder NEWTON Bobby Ray Yoder, 80, of Newton, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born June 27, 1931 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Jacob Raymond and Medie Mae Whitener Yoder. Mr. Yoder served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and had worked as an automobile mechanic. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hickory. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Preston Yoder Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Georgia Pope Yoder, of the home; sons, Dale Ray Yoder and wife, Teresa Jones Yoder, of Hickory and Tracy Lee Yoder and wife, Stephanie Mitchell Yoder, of Hickory; grandchildren, Natalie Yoder Cook and husband, Tim, of Hickory, Christopher Yoder of Hickory, Kyle Yoder of Hickory, Ally Yoder of Hickory, Joshua Berry and wife, Leslie, of Clemmons, N.C. and Johanna Bowman and husband, Micheal, of Valdese; great-grandchildren, Madison Bowman, Cheston Berry, and baby Cook expected in December; sister, Peggy Yoder Austin, of Hickory; and a number of nieces and a nephew A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 18, in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover. The Rev. John Woodard will officiate and burial will follow in the cemetery of Zion Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658. Condolences may be sent to the Yoder family at drumfuneralhome. com. The Yoder family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremations in Conover.
