Booker T. Morrow, 64, was called home on October 12, 2010. God stopped by Decatur General Hospital and called him to Glory.
The homegoing celebration for Booker Taliaferro Morrow will be Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 1 p.m. at New Jones Chapel CME Church with the Rev. Willie Cowan officiating and Sharpley Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the homecoming.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Troupe and his father, Lima Morrow; two sisters, Willie Bell Taylor and Linda Henry; mother-in-law, Evangelist Christine Davis and father-in-law, Joe Davis Jr.
Survivors include a loving wife who was devoted to him, Nannette V. Morrow; two sons, Kenneth Morrow and Booker T. Bynum, both of Decatur; four daughters, Roshandra Bynum, Chandra Dancy (Eric) and Sandra McDonald (James), all of Decatur, Tiara Turner Morrow of Birmingham; four sisters, Bobbie Ann Wright, Jacequeline Morrow, Bonnie Mosley and Angela Troope, all of Decatur; one brother, Ronnie Lee Morrow of Decatur; one aunt, Emma Wilder of Huntsville, mother-in-law, Gloria Davis of Hartselle; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Booker was a wonderful and devoted husband and father to his children and grandchildren. He was always willing to go the extra mile for his family. Booker T. received his early education at Cedar Lake Elementary School and graduated from Morgan County Training School in Hartselle. He attended Dentistry Technical School in Atlanta, Ga. He worked and retired from two jobs, 25 years at Dr. King Dentistry and 30 years at Wolverine Tube Inc. Booker T. Morris was an elder at Hills Chapel CPCA, while being an assistant teacher of Sunday school. He was also an auxiliary member of the Presbyterian Synod. Booker T. was a radical Auburn Tiger football fan. He enjoyed fishing, mowing grass and spending time with his beloved family.
