Bouapha Chankongsinh, 82, of Holland, Michigan, died December 4, 2017, in the loving care of her family.
She was born on January 1, 1935, to Khoun and La Choummanivong in the village of Bonyaung, city of Pakse, province of Champasak, Laos.
She married Bounhou Chankongsinh and they had seven children, twelve grandchildren, and four grandchildren.
In 1987, Bouapha family arrived in San Diego, California where she lived for 29 years. In December of 2016, she moved to Holland, Michigan to be with her children and grandchildren. Bouapha was very involved in the Laotian Community Associations and the Laos Temple. Religion played a very important role in her life. In her free time Bouapha enjoys gaming, playing the lotto, spending time with family, and friends.
Bouapha is survived by her three sons, Bounpanh, Inthanom, and Phonepasong; four daughters, Maniseng Keohavong, Khamfeng Phounsy, Douangphachan, and Chansana; eight grandsons, Akhasone Keohavong, Sirikone Keohavong, Manosinh Keohavong, Phetkesone Chankongsinh, Kasada Vongsavath, Vincent Chankogsinh, Dokken Chankongsinh, and Justin Chankongsinh; four granddaughters, Anita Vongsavath, Angie Chankongsinh, Leslie Chankongsinh, Natalie Chankongsinh; four great-grandchildren, Aariyum Vichidvongsa, Suriya Vichidvongsa, Alana Vichidvongsa, and Paige Chankongsinh.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Pieng Choummanivong, Bounlieng Choummanivong, and Khambor Choummanivong; and other friends and relatives.
Visitation will be Friday, December 15th, 2017, from 5¬-8 p.m. at Lakeshore Memorial Services in Holland, Michigan.
A traditional Laotian Buddhist funeral ceremony will be Saturday, December 16th, 2017
at 1 p.m. at Lakeshore Memorial Services in Holland, Michigan.
