Boyd "Butch" Cooley, 64, of Montrose, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 4th, 2020.


Born February 6, 1956 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Boyd Cooley and Mable Cooley.


He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Rita Cooley; daughter Brandy Welch and husband Steve with granddaughter Evie, son Tom Welch and wife Heather with granddaughters Jalyn and Aurora, son Brian Welch, daughter Angela Cooley with 4 grandchildren, and son Brad Cooley.  Butch was preceded in death by his brothers Howard Cooley and Rob Cooley.  He is survived by his sisters Jean Linden, June Robinson and brother in law Don Robinson with nieces and nephews; Dave Zona, Robyn Fitch, Tammy Stout, Eliza MacGeorge and step nieces and nephews.


Butch owned and operated BC Waterworks in Montrose PA where he was able to help a lot of people with their water well concerns.  Prior to that, he worked at Cavanaugh Well Drilling in Dimock, PA.


Butch used to race stock cars.  He loved hunting and building all types of things.  He loved to play cards with his friends who were considered his family.


Per Butch's wishes there will be no service.  In lieu of flowers and cards, please buy yourself your favorite beverage and have a drink in his memory.  That would be the legacy he would want to leave for everyone!

It's been 5 yrs and I still miss you little brother more than ever.

You're missed more than you could of ever imagined. Now you're the Angel that watches over us .

It's been a year little brother and I still find it hard to believe. I still look for you on the road and I can still see you standing down on your deck with that smile on your face.It was the last time I saw you. How I wish we'd spent more time together. Rita and the kids are in my thoughts and prayers today.
