Great guy and his band "The...Vers" was legendary in the Midwest. I'll always remember Boyd (dressed as Zoid Asteroid Machine) with knee pads, hair done up like a Star Trek alien, sliding across the stage on his knees and standing on top of his amp like a rock god playing his Fender Mustang or Dean V guitars. I first met Boyd back in 1975 when Yancy Derringer was playing at the Naval Base in Great Lakes.
