Not sure what to say?

Dear Karin, Emily and family,

I realize this is somewhat late, but I was so shocked, and it has taken me a while to process my thoughts.

I am so sorry for your loss.

I will always remember Brad - he was inspirational. Although unmistakably all-American, he transcended nationality. As a South African, working in the UK, I was so proud to be part of a Milliman with Brad at the helm - he united us all with his focus on overarching principles to which we all aspire to...

Dear Karen and Emily,
I wanted to express my deepest condolences to you. I am very saddened about the loss of Brad. He had such a genuine spirit and always made me feel welcomed within the Milliman organization. I am so thankful to have had the the honor of knowing him. He will be missed. My prayers will always be with you.

Shocked and sorry to hear the news. Brad was a dedicated and sacrificial leader of our firm. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Three years ago Brad Smith and Pat Grannan called me to welcome me into Milliman. Later, I had the opportunity to meet Brad in person in September 2011 at Orientation Day at the EBCF. As our chairman he had the great ability to exemplify issues. That's also the strength I will always remember when I think about Brad. He and I were also together in different occasions in the IAA Presidents Forum. As President of the SOA in the President Forum he was critical when necessary, but he was also...

Karen, Emily and Ky - my deepest sympathies for your sudden loss.

I speak for all of Milliman in saying how much we will miss Brad - his friendship, energy, and insights. At the same time, we are grateful for his many contributions to our organization. He had a positive and personal impact on so many of us. We are stronger, both individually and collectively, because of Brad.

Personally, I am thankful for the opportunity to have worked closely with Brad and to learn from him.

Loving family and friends will be by your side to comfort and support you. May their loving words strengthen you along with God's beautiful promise for loved ones in the future. Heartfelt condolences - Prov 25:11;Acts 25:15

Dear Karen & Emily,

Brad touched lives half a world away. His great support for expanded Milliman presence in India created opportunities for dozens of young professionals while establishing Milliman's international credentials. His support and leadership was critical to this success in India as well as other nearby offices. At a personal level, his frequent use of story-telling as a part of effective corporate communication was a great lesson. My deepest sympathies for your loss.

Karen and Emily, I want to extend my deepest sympathies to you and your family. It's simply impossible to fully express in words the impact that Brad had on so many of us, but I hope that the numerous entries in the logbook give you a sense of the depth and breadth of his positive influence. Like so many others, I have had many opportunities to work with him particularly on Milliman's Investment Committee, and I have always come away impressed by his leadership, focus and enthusiasm. That...

A sad loss for Brad's family and the actuarial profession. I had the pleasure of working closely with Brad this past year as president-elect of the Society of Actuaries. The actuarial profession has lost one of its giants and a great visionary. We will miss him dearly.
