Brandon Smith

Someone shared a video clip of Robert Duvall today after his passing and it was Brandon's scene in "Lonesome Dove". I met Brandon many decades ago when I was a student at his mom's acting studio and in the few plays I performed under her direction. Always liked seeing Brandon on TV and films as a fellow Houstonian actor. We were not close and I was sad to see he passed away two years ago. I share my condolences with the family.

I just learned of Brandon's passing and have already shed a few tears. I took lessons from Brandon thirty years ago in how to read poetry. I was so intimidated the first day of class that he had to turn the lights out in the room to get me to recite a poem. A good teacher gives some of his confidence to his students and you'd never know I was that shy now. He was wonderful at figuring out what an authof was trying to say in a poem. I happened upon this obit just today. I am very sorry to see of Brandon's passing. He was my first film acting coach and I actually got my SAG card doing a scene with him I a movie shot in Louisiana. We had quite a few laughs and I learned much about acting from him.. My condolences to Kate and his kids. Rest in peace my friend.

I always thought Brandon was a really nice and talented guy. Knew him home room, & mixed chorus in high school. I am so glad that he lived a full life doing what he loved and had a family that loved him. Jan Spiller Ravenhill
