Brandy Ward

Obituary

Brandy Ward, 58, died of injuries sustained in a March 2014 mudslide in Oso, Wash.

Brandy Ward was a retired nurse who "had two grandkids she just adored" and five dogs, all pointers, said Debby Rule, a former neighbor who moved to Black Diamond in July.

Ward was "an outdoorsy woman" who sewed and knitted, canned vegetables from her garden and made jellies that she'd give to neighbors, Rule said.

Ward has been confirmed dead. Her husband, Tim Ward, was taken to Harborview Medical Center with a broken pelvis.

Not sure what to say?

To the family, we are so deeply saddened and touched by your loss. No words could ever express our compassion and sympathies for you at this time. Your loss has touched the world and brought a community to its knees, yet we also see them standing strong to rally and hold one another. We think of you daily and pray for your peace nightly. Our family would like to do something special for you, if you could please contact us through Kurt's Cause on Facebook, or me directly through FB, I would...

Brandy had a heart of gold and will remain very much alive in the hearts and minds of those who loved her and knew her well. The mudslide catastrophe is a sad reminder of just how fragile we are and how precious our relationships with others are to us. I am hoping that you find comfort in knowing that God has a purpose to undo all of our woes. By means of his Kingdom, we will enjoy endless perfect life with our loved ones because this has been promised to us. (Matthew 6:9-10)

Prayers go out to the surviving family and friends may the God of comfort continue to bless you and yours especially after such a tragic loss. Please accept my deepest sympathies. 2 Cor. 1:2,3.

We will miss our friend, Brandy. She was a sincere loving person, greatly admired by all who knew her. Look forward to seeing her in Heaven. We will also keep her family in prayer during the months/years ahead.

Peace to you that loved Brandy and may her soul fly free. This is so sad!
