St. Martinville - A Memorial will be held at 5:30 pm on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville for Brenda V. Landry, 71, who passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at Lafayette General Medical Center.


 


The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm on Thursday.


 


A rosary will be prayed at 5:00 pm on Thursday.


 


Rev. Michael Champagne will officiate at the Memorial Service and Sheriff Ronnie Theriot will offer words of remembrance.


 


Brenda was a dedicated mother and wife who made a career in law enforcement. She served the public for 51 years as a deputy with St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office. Brenda was a generous person and had a great sense of humor; she could make anyone laugh. Her greatest enjoyment was visiting with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.


 


She is survived by her loving spouse Gene Landry; sons, Scott Landry and wife Stacey and Kody Landry and wife Tammy; daughters, Amber Rae Landry and Laci L. Freeman; sister, Glenda Bernis; grandchildren, Dyllan Landry, Keaton Landry, Blayze C. Landry, Bevyn Landry, Brady Miller, Lexi Miller, Noah Freeman, Trevor Landry, Halie Landry, Brylie Landry, Layke Landry, and Kodi Lynn Landry; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.


 


She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Cecile Broussard Vincent; son, Kennon Landry; and sister, Jeanelle Molbert.

My dear friend, Brenda. I am so saddened. The world was a better place with you in it. Such a caring, loving person you were of all you knew. You can now rest in peace. You are with your loved ones who went before you.

Brenda was a living angel to many. She always had a way to change a bad day to a great one. She had that sparkle. Always willing to help. She will be missed by many who loved her . Brenda...what a difference you made in the life of everyone who crossed your path on this earth...you made us laugh...you made us smile..you were always willing to lend a helping hand...you will be dearly missed...but your heavenly reward awaits you..rest in peace my friend.
