Brenda Mayo answered God’s call on Monday, March 24, 2025. She went home quietly, surrounded by her loved ones. Brenda was born January 22, 1958, in Roanoke, to the late Archie Edmonson Mayo and Willie Lee Mayo.


Brenda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was educated in the Roanoke city public school system and graduated with honors from Patrick Henry High. During her lifetime, Brenda has richly touched the lives of all those who were blessed to have known or crossed her path.


In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by 5 brothers, Joe, James L., Frankie, Nathaniel, and Clarence: One sister, Virginia Stewart. Brenda has left a beautiful legacy to be carried on and cherished through the lives of her four children Shaquita, Sherea, DeQuon, and Darell Mayo; 14 Grandchildren, Latrice, Lamoryae, Dejon, Dasia, Dwan, Zaria, Bryanna, Breyon, Jayveon, Kanyjah Mayo, Sharif Lee, Zachariah Mack, Michael and Salia Johnson; 8 great-grandchildren; A brother and sister, William “Butch” and Shirley Ann Mayo and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


 A funeral service will be held Sunday, March 30, 2025, 2pm at Paradise Cathedral COGIC. Interment will follow at Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Friends may also visit Serenity on Saturday for viewing from 2-4pm.  Arrangements by Serenity Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
