Brendan T. Baker, 92, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 6, 2024 at home.  Born in County Kerry, Ireland, son of the late John and Margaret (Foley) Baker, he came to the United States in 1949 and lived in the Hungry Hill section of Springfield for most of his life.  Brendan worked as a self-employed brick layer and also worked for the Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen Local 1 and for local construction companies.  He was very proud of all the fireplaces and other brick structures he made as well as being proud of his Irish heritage and his family.  His wife, Doreen B. (Reilly) Baker passed away on November 5, 2024.  He leaves his three sons and their wives, John J. and Nannette Baker of Chicopee, Brendan T. Jr., and Julie Baker of Wilbraham, Thomas M. and Kelly Baker of Southwick, three daughters and their husbands, Sheila P. and Mick Hayward of South Hadley, Eileen M. and Michael Belniak of Sutton, MA, Kathleen D. Wurster and her fiancé, John Gonet of Southwick, seventeen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  All services are private and Curran Jones Funeral Home is in charge.  For online condolences, please visit www.curranjones.com
