I just saw that Brendan died in 2016. I was class of 1990 at Swarthmore and I remember Brendan fondly. I didn't know him well, but we shared a dorm, my freshman year, the first time I'd ever been away from home, lived with strangers, first of many things.... Let's just say it was filled with trying experiences for me, that first year at college. Anyhow - early in my first semester, I learned that the biology clases studied embyology via fertilized chicken eggs that were then sacrificed. I...

Brendan was a phenomenal friend and great father! So shocking ! So sad for his family!

Brendan was my classmate at Swarthmore. I am so very sorry to hear of his untimely death. I wish peace and healing for the family. May he rest in peace. Gecole Harley

With love and blessings, (Rev.) Jim Barber

Dear Lisa and family,

We are deeply saddened upon hearing of Brendan's passing. We were all very fond of him and lucky to have known him. Tommy has been sharing memories of when he and Duncan played together as kids. "Dr Kelly" took care of our Tommy when he broke his arm. We will never forget him. Please know that you are all in our thoughts.

Brendan was one of the most gifted teachers who I have ever run across. He was equally caring. He made an otherwise difficult internship year at the University of Rochester fun. He will be greatly missed as he touched the lives of many many medical students, residents and patients.

Every day since the news, we wake with Brendan's face before us. Strongest wishes of support to Lisa and the children. This candle is for a little light in the face of the dimness caused by his passing.

I just learned of Dr Kelly's death, and am so very sorry for his family, his friends and colleagues and his patients and their families. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. He was a great person. God bless you all.
