St. George, Utah

George Brent Crosby, 75, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 9, 2015, at his home in St. George, UT. He was born November 3, 1939, in St. George, UT to Henry George and Emma Seegmiller Crosby.

Brent had a happy childhood as the youngest of five children and was loved and nurtured by his older siblings. He was a natural born leader and was elected class president in Jr. High, High School and Dixie College. Brent served a LDS mission to the Central Atlantic States. Following his mission he attended and graduated from BYU where he met and married Janice Taylor in the Mesa AZ Temple. They divorced later in life. Brent pursued a career in business and the service station industry. He was active in the LDS church, where he served in three bishoprics and was on the high council. Upon moving back to his beloved Dixie he worked for the City of St. George as the Public Information Officer.

Brent is survived by: his children, Brett (Elizabeth) Crosby, Mark Crosby and Amy (Brian) Johnson, six grandchildren, Caitlin Crosby, Kyle, Megan, Emma, Mallory and Erin Johnson; siblings, Winona Stanley and Linda Lou Bills. He was preceded in death by: his son, Todd Crosby; his parents; and brothers, Jack and Charles Crosby.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 11:00 am at the Bloomington Hills 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 750 E. Fort Pierce Drive North, St. George, UT 84790. A visitation will be held prior the service from 10:00 am to 10:40 am. Interment will follow at the St George City Cemetery.

Enjoyed getting to know Brent at BYU in the Cougar Club, some great memories. Saw him last in Oct 2014 at our Cougar Club Reunion at BYU Football Stadium, dinner and football game, plus being Honored as the Cougar Club Founders Team. An Honor for Brent and the Cougar Club. We will miss Him.
