Bret Banks Hicken

Bret Banks Hicken, loving husband, father, son, and brother, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in Payson, Utah. Bret was born November 27, 1958 in Payson to Clyde R. and Bonny Banks Hicken. He spent his childhood in Spanish Fork and graduated from Snow College, obtained a BS degree from BYU, and later graduated from BYU Law School. He married Leca Thomas on January 29, 1982 in Spanish Fork, Utah and they are the parents of two children. Bret was an Eagle Scout and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He worked as a Prosecutor for the cities of Pleasant Grove and Payson, and had a private practice in Spanish Fork. He enjoyed photography and falconry, but his greatest love was his family. He is survived by his wife, Leca; children, Sara Hicken and Justin Hicken, all of Spanish Fork; his parents, Clyde and Bonny Hicken, Spanish Fork; two brothers, Scott (Jennette) Hicken, Fairfield, CA, Clark (Kelli) Hicken, Springville, and a sister, Shelly (Steve) Bills, of Spanish Fork. Bret was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clyde and Lenore Hicken, and William and Mable Banks. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork, Utah.
