Jacquie thanks for giving me this address. What wonderful tributes to Brett. I have often remarked on how at 4 years old Brett tried to teach me about astronomy and I didn't know what he was talking about!He was so brilliant and I can see that he helped out many others. Wish we could have been around him more. I am one of Brett's grandmothers.

Like many people who have written previously, I only knew Brett from an online community. However, his eloquence, level headedness and thoughtfulness always made interacting with him a pleasure. Our community will not be the same, and neither will I.

My sincere condolences to Brett's parents, siblings, grandparents, nephews, nieces and those close to him. While I may have only known him through our interactions online and despite the physical distance between us, I still feel as though someone close has been lost. He'll be in my thought.

I never had the fortune of meeting Brett in person but we shared many common interests online and I'm glad that I at least had the chance to interact in some way with such an outstanding and caring individual.

I've only known Brett online, but we've been friends for many years. He was a passionate person who wasn't afraid to speak his mind, had a great love for for his various hobbies, and a sharp mind for science and politics. I will miss his insights and his correspondence. Such a sudden and tragic loss for someone so gifted and young.
My condolences to the family, and I hope it brings some consolation that he has had a great impact on the lives of many who may never have even met him in person.

I talked with Brett often online over the last five years. He was one most intelligent and analytical people I've ever talked with, and had an extremely keen critical mind for politics and social issues (not to mention his obvious enthusiasm for physics, games, and Japanese culture). I am really stunned to hear of his passing, he had a life that was so full of promise. I often asked for his advice when I had trouble thinking through things, he was an excellent confidante.
I know I'm not the only one either--dozens of people who befriended Brett online really felt he was an honestly amazing guy.
