Brian Leigh Jackson's life journey began on March 12, 1977 in Pomona, California after being born to Mary Ann Rush and William Jackson. He was the only child born to this union. Bo, as he is affectionately known, began his education in the Greater Los Angeles area until 1989 when he relocated to Blythe, California with his mother.
Bo attended school at the Blythe Middle School as a part of its inaugural class and graduated as a Palo Verde High School Yellow Jacket in the greatest class to matriculate through the high school, the Class of 1995. While in high school, Bo excelled in sports as a stellar basketball and football player, receiving many awards and recognitions from the CIF. As a senior, after a fierce competition with good friend, John Martin, he was voted most athletic in the class. Sporting his famous flattop, BK's and his Green Bay Packer's parka jacket while rolling in his black Suzuki Sidekick, Mr. Jackson was definitely every boy's nightmare and every girls dream. After graduating high school, he continued his education and athletics at Menlo Park University where he established his entrepreneurial presence. With his sidekick, Kevin Girard, at his side, he established his first business named Mobile One which became very successful. Brian and "the Class 95 Clique" spent many days and nights talking about their big business plans!
Bo met the love of his life in Palm Desert, California; it was love at first sight. Rachel Marie Ruiz turned Bo's world upside down. On April 20, 2002, surrounded by their family and friends, they were united in Holy Matrimony in Las Vegas, Nevada by his childhood friend, Quacy Smith. That was a weekend that everybody who was there will remember! From this union Bo gained a beautiful daughter, Aubrianna, who is now an excelling student at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, and together they conceived Brian's mini-me…Elysha Aidan Jackson. Following in Bo's footsteps, Elysha is a basketball superstar and a top athlete without question. In 1999, Bo and his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he resided until his flight from this life.
While in Las Vegas, Brian continued to excel in business and his employment. Bo was a friend that a friend would like to have, a model father and a devoted husband. His gentle caring demeanor nestled in his firm resolve and inner strength was what his friends and family loved about him and was the courage that made him a Champion! Regardless of the situation or circumstances in his life, Brian would always let you know that God was good all the time and that his faith was strong!
On the morning of January 15, 2014, Bo uttered his last words of faith to his beloved wife. He smiled and said, "Baby, mamasita, I love you guys! You're so beautiful! God loves us. It's ok. It's time to go!" While gazing into the afterlife he gently said… "It's amazing…baby, it's so amazing!" After his final expressions of love to his family and faith in God, Brian's life journey came to an end after his hard fought battle with cancer. He left this world and entered into what he described as "amazing!" He is a CHAMPION! While remaining resilient in strength, unfailing in faith and resolved in his determination to live, on that faithful day He beat cancer once and for all because he believed that to absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! Brian still lives in our hearts through the memories and his life motto that he left with us which is… "Train to live!"
Cherishing Brian's memory is his beloved wife, Rachel Marie Jackson; his mother, Mary Ann Rush; father, William Jackson; brother, BJ; his daughter, Aubrianna and his son Elysha. Also cherishing his memory is a host of family and friends. God has called our champion to his new home but he will forever live in our hearts. #traintolive.
