"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." - Thomas Jefferson

My Name is BG Jim Balserak. I was the trauma surgeon who last took care of Brian, 7 Novemember 2004, 447th EMEDS, Sather Air Base, Baghdad, Iraq. I was one of many skilled and caring individuals who tried so hard that day to save Brian. I think of Brian often. I pray that his wife and the children are well. I have searched for years trying to find Amy, his parents...anyone. I have been back to Iraq in 2007, Afghanistan in 2009 and then in 2011. I fly my flag for Brian, and others who...

Served with Brian in Hawaii. I wish his wife and kids the best for the future. He was a good Soldier. More importantly, he was a good man. RIP Brother Baker.

Still remembered after all these years. I hope the girls are doing well.
