It was a shock to see the news of Brian's passing in Sunday's Tribune. Although it has been a long time since we've seen each other, I wanted you to know that my prayers and thoughts are with you.

As a long-ago friend of Brian's, I remember his intense creativity and talent, his zest and love of life, and never ending commitment to his mother and family. I'm sure none of that has waned over the years... and his passing is a loss to all.
