Brian Dalton Obituary

DALTON Brian Dalton, 52, of Gahanna, OH, passed away on Thursday, February, 24, 2011 with his loving family at his side. Brian was born on January 20, 1959 in Emporia Kansas to Wanda (Ciboski) Dalton and the late Leo Dalton. At an early age, Brian and his family moved to Ohio, and he graduated from Reynoldsburg High School, Class of '78. After graduation he attended Franklin University, and graduated with a B.A. Degree in Business Administration. He began his career with the State Judiciary System over 23 years ago, as the Office Manager for the Supreme Court of Ohio, Court of Claims division. Brian was an avid sports fan and Notre Dame junky. If Notre Dame was playing, he and his sons were watching. But above all his family came first. He attended the Peace Lutheran Church in Gahanna for over 6 years. Brian was not only a positive role model for his sons, he was an inspiration to his coworkers and friends. Throughout his career he touched the lives of many people and they are now better because of him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Along with his mother Wanda, Brian is survived by his wife, Debbie Dalton; sons, Ryan, Daniel, and Ben; siblings, Geralyn (Geoff) Ludwig, Col. Kent (Jenny) Dalton, Sheila (Lt. Col. Dan) Daniels, Craig (Christine) Dalton; parents-in-law, Dave (Barb) Falkenberg; sister-in-law, Chris Falkenberg, brother-in-law, Mike (Marie) Falkenberg. He is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends. The family will be receiving friends at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH, on Sunday from 4-8 p.m., and Monday 10-11 a.m. prior to service at the Church. Service will be held on Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Clark State Rd., Gahanna, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Kai Nilsen officiating. Interment will be private. Contributions may be made in Brian's honor to the American Cancer Society. Visit www.schoedinger.com to share a story about Brian or to sign an online guest book.

Dalton Family,

I am terribly sorry for your loss. As a friend of Ryans I know I will pray for him in the coming months and years. If Ryans father is as strong and good of a man as he is then I know he was great. God bless you and may you remember the good times you all had.

Dear Dalton Family,

Every so often I would see Brian in the elevator at work. He was always friendly and pleasant. He seemed really focused too.

May God wrap His arms of love around you today and in the days to come. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Dalton Family, Brian was one of my students at Reynoldsburg Jr. High and on our track team. What fond memories I have of him . He always had a positive attitude and worked extremely hard. It seems that these characteristics had continued into his later life. Of one of 13,000+ students I taught in my career, Brian will always stand out, not because of his athletic achievements but because he was a great young man. My condolences to his family and especially to his siblings who I also knew. Don Wolfe, Health, Physical Education, and Track coach

I ran Track and Cross Country with Brian in high school. He was a very dedicated runner and always ran hard in meets and at practice. And I enjoyed catching up with him again on Facebook after many years. I'll miss him. My thoughts and prayers to all.

Dalton Family my sympathy to you all. I took photos for Brian for many years at the Court of Claims and it was always a pleasure to work with him. He was always up beat and quick to tell a story.
