Pam and Family

It is with great sadness that I write this, as you and Brian were (and still are) truly good friends and neighbors. Good ones are hard to come by and we will miss him. We're here whenever you need us, please know that. I just wish I knew how to help ease your pain. Take care and God Bless.

I was shocked to receive an e-mail today informing me of Brian's passing. I shall remember the classic poker nights in Bagram, the multitude of talks over hard Army issues, and his professional handling of the crisis during the Pakistan earthquake. Brian will always be remembered for the fine officer that he was...professional and courageous. My sympathies to the family.

I had the great pleasure of meeting LTC Brian, and his lovely wife Pam, during the World Cup held in Germany, last year. Though I met them that one time only, I felt that I had never met two better people. Needless to say, I was profoundly saddened when I learned of Brian's passing. My heart goes out to his wife, and their entire family. As a Christian, I know that he is resting peacefully in the arms of God. Pam, may you and your family find peace in knowing that Brian is okay. God...

LTC Delaplane-
I want you to know what a great impact you had on me in the short time you were with us. You were an incredible mentor to me. I always looked up to you, and aspired to be great like you someday. Even though I only had the pleasure of working with you for few months, I will remember the things that you taught me for the rest of my Army career. Thank you for all you have done so far, and for all that you will continue to do for me in the future.

My wife and I are very saddened to hear of LTC Brian's passing.

He took the time to hunt down our Marine son while he was in Afghanistan and emailed us to assure us he was doing well and in good spirits.

His blog helped us through our son's deployment in Afghanistan and his "Nine Lines" entry will always have special meaning.

Thank you LTC Brian for your service. You were and honorable and decent man.

Sir,
Rest in peace and thank you. You were, and still are, a great man and mentor. You were the cornerstone to our unit that could always levelset our frantic days. Your legacy will live on for you have touched many lives directly and indirectly.
Pam, with my deepest sympathy. My prayers of strength and courage are with you. May your heart be filled with loving memories and great times you and Brian had.

Sir,
I got in and I start Jan 08. I’m going do my best. I won’t give up, and I’ll push myself through. I know you’ll be watching, protecting, and probably laughing. I just wanted to say thank you so much for the counsel, and camaraderie. I really looked up to you and I probably should have let you know. I'll do my best with what you've helped me to achieve and I'll work hard to emulate your leadership, courage, and candor. Sir, I’ll see you when God calls me home, but until then my fellow...

There are absolutely no words to explain the shock that fell upon us when were were informed of Brian's passing. It hit us so hard that we had a lot of trouble coming to grips with the fact that Brian was gone. This tragic loss of a wonderful human being and friend has just hit us so hard. We think about Brian every day and night and we'll never forget the Brian that we knew. He was a superb Leader and Soldier who had very strong values and truly believed in our mission in the Gulf. I...
