Brian Joseph Ducey
Born December 31, 1928 in Chicago, IL, died November 5, 2017 in Seattle.
Survived by Gayle, his loving wife of 66 years; children, Brian (Colleen), Mike (Hannah), Gay Anderson (Craig), Meg Graves (David), Monica Smersh, (Bill); 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
Also survived by siblings Bob (Marilou), Kitty (Frank), Michael, and Madeleine.
Brian arrived in Seattle in 1947 looking for a better future. He married Gayle in 1951 prior to graduation from Seattle University in 1952. Served in the US Naval Reserve for 20 years, retiring at the rank of Commander. He became a banker with Seattle First National Bank, rose to the position of Senior Vice-President (Bank of America), and retired after 34 years of service to the Seattle business community. He was highly respected and admired by his peers and clients. He served on Seattle University's Board of Regents, volunteered at Mary's Place, and helped numerous Hearthstone residents in many unsung ways. He was loved by his family and friends who, through his inner strength and support, were touched in a most positive way. He will be missed by all, but the spirit of his life will live on in all those who connected with him.
Special thanks to the caring and compassionate care Brian received from the nursing and Hospice staff at Swedish Hospital, First Hill during his last days.
Private family services will be held.
Remembrances may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Assoc. Northwest Chapter at 150 Nickerson St Suite 100 Seattle WA 98109 or The Hearthstone at Green Lake.

I worked for Brian at Seafirst for several years in the late 80's and early 90's. I left to manage our properties in Cannon Beach and was just wondering about him and pulled up his obituary with the beautiful picture of Haystack (which I am sitting in my home looking out the window at right now). I would occasionally run into him and his wife on Maui or Gearhart. He was a man of integrity, honesty, competence and caring. I am happy to see he lived such a long and fulfilled life.

Thank you father-out-law for the many times we gathered around the table while Gayle's delicious dishes steamed and made us all hungry. Before those dishes could be passed, everyone turned their heads toward you. You would cross yourself and repeat the ancient blessing, "BLESS us, O lord, and these Thy gifts which we are about to receive from Thy bounty through Christ Our Lord. - Amen". Every Sunday without fail, we all chimed in with a hearty "Amen!" You could not have had a more beautiful...

Brian approved my first business loan at Dexter Horton branch in the early '70's when your reputation and a handshake was good enough. After signing he stated "just remember -#1, this is a loan not a gift, and #2, do not B.S thy banker. I spoke with him last year and reminded him that those comments have remained as a guidance in all my years in business. Brian was always a source of help when needed. He was a good man, was appreciated and will be missed.
