I met Brian in 1978 when I joined the Horse Brass Rangers soccer club. He and his wife Bet gave credence to the British flavor of the pub. They put on quite a party when Princess Di was wed. Brian ran a tight and tidy ship at the Horse Brass. He often had his hands full when the Rangers piled into Rangers Corner after a game, wet and muddy, demanding beer and food, and even executing the occasional slide tackle on the floor near the bar.
