SUNBURY - Brian P. Hogan, 50, of Sunbury, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, April 9, 2009, at his home.
He was born Dec. 10, 1958, in Sunbury, a son of Charles E. Jr. and Joan M. (Sims) Hogan of Sunbury. On Dec. 1, 1994, he married the former Michelle W. Reigle, who survives.
Brian was a 1976 graduate of Shikellamy High School.
He was employed as a communications officer for the state police at Selinsgrove and formerly worked in the same position for the City of Sunbury and the 911 communications.
He was a lifelong member of St. Monica Church, Sunbury and a member of the Sons of the American Legion of Post 201, the Goodwill Hose Company and the Northumberland Gun Club.
Brian enjoyed hunting, shooting trap and leather work.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons, Ian Patrick and Gabriel James, both at home; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gregory C. and Diann Hogan of Mahnton, Michael F. and Carole Hogan and Charles III and Kristin Hogan, all of Sunbury; three nephews; and four nieces.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Monica Church, Sunbury, with the Rev. William Haviland as celebrant.
Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a trust fund being set up for his sons, Ian and Gabriel, at the Northumberland National Bank, Northumberland, PA 17857.
