Brian Judd

I never met Brian Judd but I had some phone conversations with him. He was an atomic physicist and I nuclear. In a 1989 paper by Judd and Li [1] it was noted that for three electrons in the g 3 configuration ( LS coupling) there is no quartet state 4 D. I was intrigued with this result and in 2011 Shadow Robison and I wrote a paper Zeros of 6-j symbols: Atoms, nuclei, and bosons, In which we tried to understand Judd´s result. I met Dr Judd at the 50th anniversary of the Judd-Ofelt publication held in Udine, Italy. He was a very nice but quiet man. I enjoyed so much the piano selections he played. May his memory be a comfort to all who knew him. Okeaee know our thoughts are with his family.
